Noticed if I have it in drive and apply the brake and turn the wheel, I can hear the lower ball joints creeking but no popping. For me the popping noise was caused by a bad upper control arm bushing on the drivers side. The bushing on the rear of the control arm had worn to the point that when the control arm shifted forward, there would be metal to metal contact. I have a 2014 5.7 1500 and there is a clicking noise at cold start up. it sounds like lifters as the noise go away after a few seconds and the oil pressure is established. The truck only has 13,000 miles on it and it has only been serviced by the dealer. The temperature range is between 25 to 35 ...there is a clicking noise on my truck every time the tire rotated. I replaced the U-joints in the front end and in the drive shaft and the ball joints. There isn’t a rock or screw in the tires so I’m at a loss. Could it be the wheel bearing?
