I also rerouted the fuse wire from the fuel pump fuse under the hood, to the 15A IGN fuse under the dash. Solved the random DRL turn on as well. If a bulb is out or a connection is weak/bad, this upsets the resistance in the circuit and the flasher does not "read" the approproate resistance to function properly. Since your problem appears to be intermittant this would suggest corrosion to me (or a weakening/dying flasher).
