I've read a bit about it on other forums and I haven't seen anything positive about it. One or two mentions of it on a Rav4. They mentioned it can interfere with things like remote start, smart key, and some other stuff.

I'd say buy the car and unplug the Karr box. Best of both worlds at this (too-late) point. Too late because it's already there, and as others have said, removing it and the wiring may introduce problems that don't currently exist.
