There's tonnes of loyalist nailed World Eaters, many of whom were forced to take the nails. Famously a huge portion at Isstvan III. You could try out Galaxy in Flames, Angron: Slave of Nuceria, Battle for the Abyss and The Outcast Dead for more context on them. The nails didn't totally remove agency even if they interfered.
