The transfer assembly is a very simple mechanism. You won't find many straight 90W gear lubes still on the market. A conventional will be 80W-90 and synthetic will generally be 75W-90. I use 75W-90 GL5. Any brand is fine. You could even use 75W-140 but would probably give up some fuel economy (but don't try it).
