The pin is not coder, and sometimes works itself free, gear selector shift linkage gets stuck usually in reverse. Find the pin as well, you dont want that rolling around your tranny. There might be two pins, the roller and the pin that failed. I'd try another shifter switch, they are less than 100 on ebay and take all of 10 minutes to swap out. You don't need to have them programmed either, swap and go, 2wd and 4wd use the same switch but you'd have to re-use the bezel and 4wd buttons if you pick up a 2wd switch. Our LR4 is stuck in park. The rotary shifter won't budge. I tested all the fuses and they're all good. No warnings on the dash, and no errors come up when scanning through the obd ii port. The brake lights come on just fine when the brake is pressed.

Ah good to know. I also just got off the phone with the service department and they suggested I monitor it for a few days. So hopefully this just a case of a new car getting broken in.
