I've done 2 months of buying a subscription and cartel coins through steam no issues yet, but I do see a ton of negativity towards SWTOR on steam. The whole account linking is hit or miss. ImNotASWFanboy. People certainly have made controllers work with SWTOR, it requires lots of different button combinations but it works. Steam Deck also has L4/R4 and L5/R5 buttons on the underside so that combined with the streamlining of abilities might make it even easier to map across.
