They have literally zero personality except what you can imagine. The mercs never comment on choices or chat at camp and are not interested in a romance. I would recommend respecing companions to get those parts of the game too.The companions in wotr aren’t bad. U already have the 2 best supporting classes in the game paladin and cleric that can give ur team insane attack bonus, unless ur playing on unfair u don’t need mercs I know I beat the game on hard without mercs and used mercs on my unfair playthrough. General assessment of companions as being sub-optimal is rather flawed in general. There are only 3 which are flat out worse: Harrim, Amiri, and Linzy. It depends on your options settings. "Only active companions receive experience" means only the current party members gain XP; it's also proportional to the size of your party (i.e., five characters receive 20% XP, four characters receive 25% XP, etc.). Disabling this option means all characters receive equal XP.
Then to get the cleric trader to cast it 1) open inventory, 2) right click on the character that you want to raise and select open character screen. 3) right click on the character again and select open inventory. 4) find the raise/resurrect scroll that you want to cast, right click it and select use.All the mods I've found don't seem to work anymore.
